Which animal do you think makes the best pet and why?

It may sound crazy but a potbelly pig!! They don't smell, they are very intelligent, they'll never from baby on up "do" anything inside the house, They don't change coats, and they are great guardians, I also have 3 dogs, 8 horses and some other kinds of animals, but I would recommend a pig to anyone with an allergie or can't walk the dog as much etc.

birds you dont have to let them in and out feed and talk to them and easy to take care of

cats. they are independent, you don't have to walk them or pick up their sh*t. but they are very loving and will look after you!

if you've got the time and energy, a dog, because its loyal and cuddly and fun and good company. you can take it with you wherever you go and it guards your house
but if you work or dont want to take your pet out for walks, definitely a cat. they're also cuddly and fun but dont need the constant company and walks that dogs do. and they sleep in your bed and purr and you can play with them.
small caged animals have to be cleaned out and exercised and most dont come to you when you call them
so my vote is.. cat!

Throw a little food in and they are good to go for another day.
i think small dogs make the best pet because they will actually play with you even when they get old and cat won't when they get old. dogs also pay more attention to you than cats do
people, they're easy to train
i would say dog becouse many people says its mankinds best friend. but be carfull they are very smelly and sh1te everywhere

Boy, am I the one to answer this one. I have lots and lots of different animals as pets and by far our leopard gecko is the bomb!! She eats about 20 large crickets a week, doesn't need to be taken out to go to the bathroom, never, ever gets in the trash and is perfectly content to just be taken out and admired a few times a week. She is by far the best pet we have ever had, although we love ALL our pets!!

Personally I think dogs make the best pets because they are so loyal. They love you unconditionally and there is nothing better than when you are having a miserable day, to come home and see that wagging tail, hear a happy bark and to feel their silky fur while petting them. Your dog is always happy to see you whether you have been gone five minutes or five days. They are not very demanding, very trainable and very intelligent animals. Plus they are sooooo cute!!

they make so much mess and noise they will drive you insane
a spider is easy- just feed it a fly a day and you're set! no vet bills, and when you're sick of it you let it go in the neighbour's garden. the dead fly shells get a bit tiresome though, as do the cobwebs.
all pets make a horrible mess. best to stick to a tamagotchi.

CATS well i think because you do have to feed them alot but they are so loveing yet play full and you dont have to walk them lol =D
I can understand your question but first you need to consider your own situation. If you are at work all day with no other person in the house and have no place for your pet outside during the day then it is unfair to have a dog. If you are living in a built up area then it is not fair to have a large dog which needs a lot of exercise. In this case it would be better to have a cat which does not need to get out and you can have a litter tray for whenever it wants to use it. Cats do like to look after their claws maintaining the large cat animal instinct to hunt prey so they like to look after their claws to keep them sharp and active. To achieve this they pluck at things such as the carpet, setee, chair or bed coverings so you would need to have a "toy" thing that the cat could play with to save your decor and surroundings.
If your lifestyle and environment permits then a dog is the most loving pet friend you can have. Some breeds show this love better than others. If you have young children the choice of dog is important and so is the age of the dog. I have had dogs, cats, birds and fish almost all of my life and would recommend a dog. The breeds I would suggest are golden retrievers and labradors both of which are known for their placid temperment and are good with children as well as spaniels. Females usually make the best loving friend but I had one male that showed more love than any other dog he was awsome giving out large measures of love. Male or female regardless of whether you live in a small house or large house should be neutered. A male dog will wander if he is anywhere near a female that is coming into season. A male or female when neutered usually put on a bit of weight so a little more exercise is required. Giving a dog from a pound or shelter a new home before it is cruelly put to sleep because nobody wants it is offering it a lifeline which you will never forget nor will the dog and it will repay this in kindness and love. I suggest you go to one of these places and look around each dog and one will catch your eye as the one for you.
horse. if you have the room. because they are fun to ride and you can form bonds with them.
Goldfish - they are low maintenance and pretty to look at.

it's down to personal preference and circumstances. I have friends who have two dogs and two cats. They have a large secure garden and have their own cat/dog flaps, so they can wonder into the garden whenever they want and have a wonderful life. However, I love all kinds of animals but I live in a flat on a main road and the only pet I could safely have would probably be a budgie or fish.
i think rats make the best pets as i have 2 my granddughter has 1 also. my rats dont answer me back like the wife does.
A pet rat they are cute you can train them like a dog (except barking!!) They are easy to look after and keep clean and they are happy to play when you want to and sleep when you dont and it's quite cheap to keep them too.
squairel, they r very friendly n they will wait you at your front door asking you to feed them.
