carrots, and also unsprayed twigs from fruit trees are fine.
Most veggies are fine - carrots, celery, brocolli, cauliflower, etc. Lettuce has no nutrients, so is not a good food source, and I wouldn't recommend onions or garlic, but pretty much everything else is ok. Also, fruits like apples and pears are good in small amounts.
carrots and celery. If you want to wear their teeth down, put a branch in their cage for them to gnaw on. You want to use branches from fruit trees and make sure the branch has no sharp points and is an inch in diameter. Don't make it too long either.
Popsical sticks, eat the popsical and give him the stick! Also any small cardbord boxes, ie granola bar boxes too! Ok so far that's not food, but good recycling! Ok My hammys LOVE dog biscuits, you can buy them bulk for cheep! Like the others said carrots are good snakes, they don't help too much with keeping the teeth worn down. Dry bread crusts and peanuts(unsalted) are good too.
You can get a set of 4 chewing sticks from walmart for 88 cents.
