How much time are you at home?
How much time do you want to spend taking care of your pet?
Every animal has different needs, and you have to find the one
that fits your life style and personality.
Dogs want your attention, and need training.
Cats are independent.
Then there are reptiles, weasels, hamsters, Guinea pigs, turtles, birds (some you can teach to talk), etc, etc, etc,

You must get a rat, they're the best pet ever, you have to believe me, cau'se I've had a lot of pets. Remember to buy one that has been hand reared from birth, so they definately will not bite. They are also very clean, easy to look after, cheap to feed and very affecionate. I had six rats, but gave away two because I didn't have a big enough cage, so now I have four rats. They're very cute. Trust me, get a rat, and don't worry about diseases, domestic rats don't have any, unlike other pets. However, if you want a pet to get attached to for along time, you might not want a rat cause they only live for about 3 to 4 year, or maybe less.
