Pot-belly pigs are cute. They like to burrow and will use their snouts to try and nuzzle underneath you. Just make sure they don't get into a habit of toe-biting. That's no bueno.

Seabiscuit is one of my favorites too. I also really like "National Velvet" the version with Mickey Rooney and a very young Elizabeth Taylor. I cry when she wins the horse in the raffle and they bring him to her. My favorite line is when she walks into a bunch of flowers and takes a big breath and says "horses!" I wonder which version of Black Beauty you didn't like cause there were several. The newest one is one of my favorite horse movies and is very true to the book, unlike other versions. At the end when the old Black Beauty sees Joe at the horse market and swings his head, I just cry my eyes out cause that really was a very very old horse they used in that part. Another I like but is hard to find is the original Misty of Chincoteague that has the real Misty in it.

I just wanted to know what everyones favorite breed of horse was?

The wild Mustang. I was lucky enough to own a Mustang for over 32 years. He was 6 mos old when I got him. I have owned %26 loved a lot of different breeds of horse but the Mustang was the easiest keeper,the healthiest and the most versatile. Everyone should be lucky enough to own one.The Mustang has been such an important part of America's heritage and deserves better treatment than they are getting. The BLM does round up some horses to sell but they also cull (kill) a lot of them %26 this should be stopped immediately.

WELSH PONIES AND COBS There are incredibly versatile. They can be as small as 12H and Cobs can get to 15H plus. They have pretty little heads on them and the kindest eyes.No they are not just gray. You can get any colour of Welsh despite what many people think. We have bred them for line classes, driving, hunter ponies and dressage. They have wonderful personalities. You can do anything with them. At 8 I could walk our stallion through the barn. I would recommend them to anyone.

My favorite horse breed is a Mustang. I have two. I also have Reg. Quarter horses and Appys. But my favorite is the Wild Mustang. They are SMART. They are so loving and gentle.
For me, it's the Quarter Horse all the way. I love them all, but there's something about the rugged muscle %26 versatility of this breed that when coupled with good intelligence just draws me like a magnet.
If I was rich, I would own a Fresian, but my favorite affordable horse is a Quarter. They are sensible and smart. I love their huge butts! lol
It makes me not feel sorry to ride them, since they have lots of muscle :)

Why is it whenever someone asks me what my favorite whatever is i have several. but anyway here they are Painted,Clydesdales,and Walkers.
in the paints i prefer the black and whites,but i love their markings.

finally Walkers they are the best on your body to ride. it is basically like the cadillac of horses in smoothness.
I might be a little biased, but I love my Morgan horse. I've found, that with a little work, he's willing and capable to do anything I ask of him (though not always at the same time.lol) and his personality is great. He's a sweetie around kids, adults, anyone who has food. But I think each individual person finds a horse that fits them, no matter the breed.

Well we have three we own a quarter horse we use her for everything barrel racing team penning English Dressage trail riding ,a put the young kids on so they can ride horses she is the ultimate multi tool, then we have our Paint solid little mare with just a little attitude fantastic barrel racer fast sweet and fun to ride then there's my ride ,a Belgian named Sparky not a more gentle breed then the draft horse they are just amazingly gentle and fun to ride I'm working on putting him in Gymkhana just for fun

Monkeys are definitely cool but for some reason I like ducks. They are multi-talented. They can walk, fly, and swim. I also enjoy it when I see some idiot walk up to a duck and think they can pet it and the duck goes crazy and starts attacking. Some people are terrified and run like a nut. I go to a local park and watch them from time to time.
My friend had a monkey and it was the funniest thing. The monkey would smoke and hold your hand and watch TV. He also sneaked into the liquor cabinet and drank some tequila, he passed out and urinated all over the floor. Good times.good times!

There is not one I dont like. Each one has its own Cool things about it. Camels to Komodo Dragons they are all the best.

There is not an animal alive I dont love.
But I have not been around ALL of them so lets go with one I have..
Bears.. Love them.. and YES Ive been afraid of them..
Ive been tree'd by a mom bear and in that case you need to have a bit or respect for the situation!
It was MY fault not hers I surprised her.. She was only protectin her cubs from what she felt was a threat.
In time she left but she gave me a real up close and personal look at just how intimidating they can be if threatened..
She taught me a well deserved lesson , thats for sure!
I might also add to those of you out here who think all bears are awful and will eat you. she could have easily.. gotten to me and mauled me at the least.
She did not.. she chose not to. Bears are very misunderstood.
Wonderful Animals really, a bit smelly but great all the same.

My favoite animal is the Tiger. I think it has a very beautiful coat,and such a graceful walk. If it were possible to raise a Tiger in the city (from a Cub,that is),then I would have one. I really hate Reptiles!.
Cats, and my daughter's huge white cat scared me more than once. He bit me one time, his fangs going all the way through my thumb, (I got blood poisoning from it and had to go to the emergency room) Normally, he was the greatest coolest cat, but once in a very rare while he would bite.
My second favorite are horses. I've had them for many many years, but there's a part of me that never forgets they are still a very large animal with ancient wild instincts.

My favorite animal is the Emperor Penguin. No, I can't say that they've ever scared me, and the reason that I like them so much is because they're so adorable and my grandmother gave me a large plush of one for my 2nd birthday.

My favorite animal depends on my mood and/or the time of day. In the morning, I love dogs best. They get me up %26 around %26 give me a purpose. Midmonings I am often in a reflective mood, and then horses are my favorite, because you look into their eyes and know that something deep, wonderful %26 mysterious is happening in there. Around noon I appreciate all the animalls who sacrifice their lives for our daily food. God gave them such an important role to play in our lives; it's only fair to remember their gift to us. I turn on my tv, and meerkats %26 whales %26 dolphins cause me to marvel, %26 I fall in love all over again. But my afternoons and evenings belong to the cats. There is no animal which brings me such pleasure as the domesticated housecat. They lie in my lap %26 remind me that they are the most important creatures in the universe, %26 God only created humans because cats need a lap to lie in, %26 they don't have opposable thumbs!
My favorite animal is the horse, all breeds of them. I have never been scared of them, I think because I have been around them my entire life.

I love all animals, but I have always had a connection with my horses, I had an ex-racer that was very green, I was thrown off him more times than I can count, I dis-located my jaw, crushed my knee cap, didn't matter, I was back up on him within a week in a brace. I've never been scared of him.
They say your not a good rider until you have been thrown 18 times, I've been thrown 21 times, off different horses..

I Love all kinds of animals, but if I had to pick one, it'd be a dog. Dog's love their Master unconditionally. They offer affection readily and as long as their Master(owner) is around, they are usually very content.
Also, dogs will play with you and if you don't feel up to it, they'll patiently wait until you do. They can be taught to lead, follow, or stay beside you. They can be taught to protect you at all costs and are wonderful for people who are handicapped.

NAME: Expecteria Trouserius" (Trouser Snake).
LOCATION: Throughout the world.
DESCRIPTION: Varying from pink to black. Fang-less with a highly venomous spit.
Size varies from 3 to 12 inches, depending on its mood %26 sub-species.
SYMPTOMS: This snake attacks mainly women in the lower front abdomen, resultingin an inconspicuous bump. Then a severe swelling followed by excruciating pain after nine months. The attack is not usually fatal. It has been known to attack men in the rear lower abdomen, resulting in an incurable disease and consequent death.
HABITAT: Usually found in bedrooms, but has been known to appear in the most unusual places.
ANTIDOTE: Various types of vaccine available for women. However, once the venom is injected into the body only drastic measures will ensure complete recovery. There is no known antidote for men.
WHAT TO DO WHEN ATTACKED

My favorite pets.are my two retired Greyhounds. Greyhounds are quiet, gentle, placid, loving, happy, clean dogs that are not hyper and "don't need to run". I can't believe that so many are destroyed yearly, monthly and daily because they can no longer run. Yes, they are big (mine are 75 %26 85 lbs), and some people are scared of big dogs, but they are the best! You have to have a great vet that knows about their sensitivities to some flea killers and medicines, and you have to be willing to adopt an adult dog. But they are so worth it.I recommend that anyone looking for a dog check out their local Greyhound rescue/adoption group. If you live in the Pittsburgh area check out Going Home Greyhounds.

OK, a lot of stuff being tested is just plain innecessary. Our demand for more and more powerful chemical solutions to everyday problems is stupid on our part, especially when safe, eco-friendly, and equally effective solutions exist.
However, there are billions of chemical combinations out there, and trillions of possible interactions between these. These can be anything from medicines to make-up, and each one presents a real and potential danger.
Sure, maybe this one product is probably safe- known safe ingredients, known safe processing techniques, etc.- but are you really willing to use it if it has not been well-tested?
Computer testing, you say? Sure- if computers were perfect, that might work, but they are only as good as their programming and data set.
I don't want companies to use my family for product testing. I want to be pretty confidant the stuff is safe. Some of my kids have allergies- will this new product trigger them? What will happen when they use THIS shampoo and THIS skin cleanser- will it be safe?
How about this medicine? Is it safe? What other products does it react to? How safe are you willing for it to be before you'll trust it? Pretty safe?

Kants manifest plainly states that for something to be treated ethically, it must be a rational being. Animals do not fit into this category, and are therefore other rational beings, ie, us.
It is a superiority complex, for sure, but it is ethically sound and his Deontology (which has a few more parts) has been a pivotal foundation of ethics for over 200 years now.

Here is my take on it.
I'm strongly against testing animals that is currently happening regarding beauty products. They have proven what is ok, and what is not to last a long time without having to test new products (With all the same old ingredients they are now re-testing on animals) just to approve it to sell it.
I am ok with animal testing that has been done that can be applied to human health. Pen and Teller did a show about "Peta" and their approach on this topic, and a couple others. They showed that some major Peta head hancho's are using drugs to stay alive (Diabetes) that had to be tested on animals in order to prove their safety for human use. A majority of our science, and health approaches to save people's life have to be thanked by animal testing. Its unfortunate that animal has to be done in order to have us flourish, however if you look at your local "BackStage West" newspaper you will see alot of company's asking for 'volunteers' to test out a new medication. Or paying high amounts of money to collect female's eggs for infertale women. There are many side effects that occure when things like this happen here on our own front that people get blind sided by humanity's ignorance and selfishness.
Ask around. Chances are someone you know, or their family member have had medical problems that had been linked to them needing money and offering their body's for a new drug, etc.
My mother never was able to have her own children due to a trial birth control that infected so many trial women they never made it to the shelves.
My friend has major health concerns when it comes to her female reproductive tract, and hormonal balance, because she needed money and donated some of her eggs.
The question should be asked if anyone has every used asprin. Or birth control, or diabetes medication, or a grandparent in the hospital, etc. Chances are they have animal medical testing to thank for the results.

Here is my take on it.
I'm strongly against testing animals that is currently happening regarding beauty products. They have proven what is ok, and what is not to last a long time without having to test new products (With all the same old ingredients they are now re-testing on animals) just to approve it to sell it.
I am ok with animal testing that has been done that can be applied to human health. Pen and Teller did a show about "Peta" and their approach on this topic, and a couple others. They showed that some major Peta head hancho's are using drugs to stay alive (Diabetes) that had to be tested on animals in order to prove their safety for human use. A majority of our science, and health approaches to save people's life have to be thanked by animal testing. Its unfortunate that animal has to be done in order to have us flourish, however if you look at your local "BackStage West" newspaper you will see alot of company's asking for 'volunteers' to test out a new medication. Or paying high amounts of money to collect female's eggs for infertale women. There are many side effects that occure when things like this happen here on our own front that people get blind sided by humanity's ignorance and selfishness.
Ask around. Chances are someone you know, or their family member have had medical problems that had been linked to them needing money and offering their body's for a new drug, etc.
My mother never was able to have her own children due to a trial birth control that infected so many trial women they never made it to the shelves.
My friend has major health concerns when it comes to her female reproductive tract, and hormonal balance, because she needed money and donated some of her eggs.
The question should be asked if anyone has every used asprin. Or birth control, or diabetes medication, or a grandparent in the hospital, etc. Chances are they have animal medical testing to thank for the results.
I believe that animal products should be tested on animals and people products should be tested on people.
I oppose of both types of animal testing. The first type of animal testing is cosmetic testing. I don't believe in this because humans were makeup and animals don't. It is sad that we subject animals to an industry that they are not even a part of. The second type of animal testing is for medical research. I don't believe in it because there are now ways to test certain things without the use of animals. Those these are expensive they will save many animal lives.
I think that cosmetic testing on animals is pretty frivelous and is a bit cruel, as it hurts the animals and it's just for makeup.
Medical testing, I fully support. Countless medications have been developed through animal testing, which have saved countless human lives. Man has always eaten other animals, or used them to do work. It's the way things are. If you have a problem with it, stop being a human. There's no way to change the fact that our ancestors needed to use animals for labor, food, and clothing to survive. If you can't deal with the fact that we need to rely on the exploitation of animals to further our own species, then stop being a part of our species.
People run their mouth about animal cruelty being horrible and all that, but I'm sure if they or one of their loved ones was dying and needed just one shot to save their lives, they would not research whether that shot was tested on animals or not before getting that shot. They wouldn't care one bit, because it saved their life.

what is wrong with my rabbit??
ive had him over 2 years, he is about 3 years in age. when i got him he easily adapted himself to being 'potty trained'. he had his little corner basket where do to his belongings, and its been like that all those years. however in the past 3 months he's gotten the mood of peeing in different spots in his cage whenever i clean it, he ends up making a mess and leaving the bad odor, i try to scoop up the pebbles in the spot where he peed and dump it in the little corner basket and then he begins to kinda go to it and use, but in random moments he just does it outside.
what am i doing wrong that makes him do that?? he is out of his cage 24/7, he goes in and out as he pleases, he was neutered long time ago, and he eats like he always did.

these ppl are funny ma bunny is the same age. train her to get to the corner and do her bussiness. everythings was fine when i clean her corner i used the cleaning stuff that i used to clean her corner with and clean all over so she sniffed the place that smilled like her littter and pees there. so if u use disinfect to clean her aarea and use it around the room too, that bunny will smell the disefect and pee so try to chang what u use to clean ur home with a change is too so it would be fresh it wont have no fimilar oder. thats how i got my bunny to stop peeing all over. plus i would pop her and say no until i figured out why she was doing this. if it don't work take her to the doc but it won't help nothign is wrong with that bunny if he eats good poops good and running around u are taking really cood care of it. What is wrong with my horse?
My horse pulls its head down all the time and chumps on the bit! Does it need its teeth floated or a different bit or what can i do to stop it?

try tightning the headstall and when was the last time his/her teeth floated? that is very important b/c if their teeth aren't floated, it can lead to some MAJOR mouth problems!
the peices on the sides of the headstall running to the bit should be tight enough to where you can see 3 wrinkles on each side of the outside of the horse's mouth.
Is the bit sitting in the correct place? What bit are you using? Is it the correct size? Is this a new problem? Please add some more info so we can try to help!
I would suggest that you get him/ her checked over by a vet making sure teeth are checked.

do make sure u arent using cedar or pine bedding as mentioned earlier. it can lead to breathing %26 skin irritation. make sure u have carefresh or aspen---no oils r in them. r u keeping the cage cleaned well in the pee area? there is a thing called aspergillis fungus that makes the bedding turn black and this can get in their lungs %26 kill them.

well i am sure you took great care of it but hamsters die at 2 to 3 years if they are taken care of well.
BUT
It could be due to your bedding. What beddings are you using? Pine beddings are very bad for hamster as it affect their lungs and cause allergies and lots of side effects too. Also, though some beddings are considered safe, but some hamsters are allergic to them.
I really think you need to take it to the vet.

Hamster's life expectancy is only 2-3 years. If his/her breathing is rapid, shallow, or very hard.then she's reacting to either pain, fear or pregnancy. Do you have loud music, or flashing lights.These may scare her. Could she possibly be pregnant? Carefully monitor her water and food intake. Has she put on weight, are her nipples more pronounced? It may just be a matter of time. Or she may also be dying. IF the above don't apply try to make her comfortable and prepare your self.
It will probibly die. If it has a lump it has a cancer ' ish/ tumor. ( my hamster got one) It will die in a few day or weeks. Sorry. Theres nuthing you can do. I wouldnt take it to the vet, since it will die even if you do. But you could call and ask a question!

What is wrong with my goat??
What the heck is coming out of my goat? Its white and coming out of her vulva and has been for over a week now, maybe two weeks. There is no way she can stilll be in heat right? Does she have a infection. My little wether keeps humping her, is he keeping her in heat?

They have their own fluids too. She is probably still in heat or wasn't when you thought she was. Your wether can tell when she is at her peak. He may not have the equipment, but sometimes they still know.
If her attitude and regular behavior changes you might want to get her checked. Watch for signs that something has changed. She should be fine. Just keep an eye on her if you are worried. I'm not sure, but I don't think (at least it has never happened to me) that the wether can keep her in heat.

What is wrong with my chicken?
I have a young silkie, about 3 months old. She has a fouled vent, the feathers around the vent are all gone, she is underweight, stares vacantly and sometimes makes a noise like she's in pain. The other birds in the flock are fine.

Maybe she has bird flu! My stepfather raises chickens and the rooster will pull the feathers out of some of the hens when they are.you know. The loss of feather could be due to natural molting.

he has a pink and bald eye.And it it is a little swolen around the eye inthe pink stuff. He/She is an Albino bunny. Help?

Bunnies have really lousy tear ducts, and when they get blocked, bad things can happen. You may notice fluid, pus, or gunk around the eye, and it's possible that it becomes pink from irritation. If it goes on for long enough without treatment, the constant wetness on the area will lead to the fur coming off, hence the "bald" eye.
Please, please, please take your bunny to the vet IMMEDIATELY! If left untreated, your bunny could get an abcess, or a prolonged head infection (which could lead to other eye, ear, and nose infections).
The vet will first probably try giving you eyedrops or ointment to apply to the eye daily. If this doesn't work, he/she will most likely try flushing the tear duct.
There is no answer good enough that you will get here, GO TO THE VET!! Bunnies are VERY sensitive.this could be happening for many reasons. Bunnies (as most animals) will hide any reall tramatic symptoms for a while before it is too late to help them. DO not let this continue.HELP HIM!!

Sounds like your rabbit might have an eye infection. Is the third eyelid showing? Is the eye oozing anything?
You have 2 options: a) go to a feed and tack store, or a place that sells over-the-counter medicines for animals. Purchase a small tube of Teramycin eye ointment and follow the directions on the tube--it SHOULD clear up any infection and sooth the inflamation - OR - b) take your rabbit to the vet who'll wash the eye with a saline solution and probably take a culture, and then prescribe some ointment.
If you go with (a) and the problem doesn't clear up in a day or two, definitely do option (b) as the infection is more serious and you'll need a stronger antibiotic.

Bunnies have really lousy tear ducts, and when they get blocked, bad things can happen. You may notice fluid, pus, or gunk around the eye, and it's possible that it becomes pink from irritation. If it goes on for long enough without treatment, the constant wetness on the area will lead to the fur coming off, hence the "bald" eye.
Please, please, please take your bunny to the vet IMMEDIATELY! If left untreated, your bunny could get an abcess, or a prolonged head infection (which could lead to other eye, ear, and nose infections).
The vet will first probably try giving you eyedrops or ointment to apply to the eye daily. If this doesn't work, he/she will most likely try flushing the tear duct.
There is no answer good enough that you will get here, GO TO THE VET!! Bunnies are VERY sensitive.this could be happening for many reasons. Bunnies (as most animals) will hide any reall tramatic symptoms for a while before it is too late to help them. DO not let this continue.HELP HIM!!

What is wrong with his horse's leg or maybe its his hoof?
I am boarding this one horse and he is in his stall right now. I put him out and he was out basically all morning, but now he just wants to stay inside. I think he is snoozing or resting right now, but when I left him, his left rear leg/hoof is up. Is this what all horses do when they are resting ? Do they keep one or more of their hoofs off the ground? If not, what can I do? It seems like he doesn't want to put pressure on it..should I call the owner and notify him of this?

Good lord. The horse is fine. When they're taking a nap they will rest one back leg and lock their knees into place. Don't worry about it. This is common horse knowledge and every horse does this when they're relaxed.

If he's holding it up in the air I would call the owner. If he has it up on the toe so to speak he is just shifting his weight to relax comfortably. He could have just twisted it wrong or maybe picked up a rock. But if he still has the front of the hoof touching the ground he's just shifting weight.
I would call the owner and let them be responsible for deciding if something is wrong.

If you can, try to watch his gaits and see if he is uneven (lame). Whichever leg/hoof you think is sore, he will take a shorter step and the beat will seem off. You could also take a hoof pick and press it into the bottom of his foot lightly at first and then apply a little more pressure. be sure to be careful around the frog. He may have a rock in the hoof or there may be an absess. Of course, tell the owner your concerns, even if there is nothing wrong, they will appreciate your attention to their horse. Good luck!

What is with all of these misconceptions and ignorance about rats as pets?
Really, its irritating and superficial. I've heard terms such as "terrible, disgusting, ugly, mean, dirty," etc. to describe them, by people who have never had them as pets. I really wish people would at least contribute informed opinions and do a little bit of research once in awhile instead of buying into mainstream ignorance about such animals.
ESPECIALLY before buying a pet, thats probably the most irritating thing about these pet questions, are those who are misinformed and own exotic animals.

Wild rats--that sounds odd--do carry disease and they are dirty, but the same could be said of most stray or feral dogs and cats. In actuality, rats kept as pets are clean and they're very intelligent. (As you no doubt know.) I agree, it is irritating and superficial, and those kinds of comments are made out of ignorance. But cheer up--there are plenty of intelligent and well-informed people in the world. Some of them are even rat owners!
People say rats bite and are dirty; they are VERY clean, do not bite, and are incredibly smart. I have two girls: Sugars and Peek-a-Boo. They are great pets! (also, u will need to get 2--1 will get very lonely by itself =(
It is from the movies like 'Willard' and "Ben" and scary movies like that. Plus we heard about Rats carrying the plague in Europe in our history class. And they are seen at the dumps and garbage cans. So guilt by association.
